If Anyone Can Duplicate the Success of Angry Birds, Rovio Can. Maybe.

In the fast-pace world of mobile technology, there will always be those success stories that everyone tries to emulate. The problem is, in most cases, those stories cannot be duplicated. There is always a luck factor and there is the “Was in the right place at the right time” factor that contributed to its success.

That is not to say there won’t be more right places and right times, but that moment that caused Angry Birds to absolutely explode in popularity or for Facebook to buy Instagram, a company with zero revenue or plans to generate any, for a billion dollars, those moments have passed.

Startups: If ur biz plan includes the words “Just like Angry Birds” or u use Instagram as proof for anything, I’ve some very bad news for u.

Having said that, if anyone can make those magical moments happen again, it is probably the same people/companies that made them happen in the first place. Again, this is far from scientific and Rovio itself released tens of games that did not do as well as Angry Birds before it created the world’s most popular mobile game.

Well, Rovio understands that it can’t milk the Angry Birds cow forever, despite the fact that the milk is still very much flowing… The company is expected to release its next game this week. The game is called Amazing Alex and you can see the trailer below.

Amazing Alex will be available on Android and iOS beginning Thursday, July 12th. Not to add pressure or anything, but Angry Birds was downloaded more than a billion times and generated more than $106 million bucks for Rovio so the company has quite the shoes to fill.

Amazing Alex is a game based on a curious young boy named… Alex, who enjoys building things. The game will offer hundreds of physics-based challenges, and offers users the ability to create their own designs as well.

Well, good luck to you, Rovio and again, no pressure at all… OK, maybe a little.
