The Most Amazing Viral Campaign in the History of the WorldWide Web. No, REALLY!

Since we work in the mobile advertising space, we often cover the mobile part of that two word phrase. Less often will you find content on this site about advertising. It’s just not as sexy. Until now!

Tipp-Ex, a whiteout company, yes whiteout, you know the stuff we use to correct our writing , created a brilliant Youtube campaign a few years back that went completely viral. You can see it below, but make sure to follow through and choose different verbs. Yes, the campaign in on YouTube and it is fully interactive.

Try it, it will blow your mind.

Well, it looks like Tipp-Ex is at it again with their brand new campaign entitled Tippexperience 2. It is truly awesome. You start off watching a bear and a person celebrating the bear’s birthday when all of a sudden, they notice a meteor approaching.

You, the viewer can then choose to relocate the party to a different year, ANY year, in order to avoid the destruction of the world. I, of course, tried many many years, the same way I tried many verbs in the previous campaign. It makes you wonder how these campaigns were made. Did they really manually create a video for every year and every verb? Apparently so.

Either way, both these campaigns are genius.

So what does this mean for us folks in the mobile advertising space? Well, in one word? Interactivity!

That is what works. That means rich media, which increases user engagement. That means hyper-local ads, which due to their relevancy, increase user engagement. That also means gone are the days of the plain old text ad with no targeting of the user viewing it. It’s a whole new world.

Enjoy the campaign!

Burger King did this years ago with "Subservient Chicken". You type in what you want it to do and it did it. It is still online..google it.
