Halfbrick Joins the Fun, Starts Selling Fruit Ninja Toys

Another day, another ridiculous (in a good way, of course), addictive, and viral mobile app exiting mobile phones and making its way to toy stores…

First there was Rovio who sold these plush toys, then opened up the first Rovio store to sell all sorts of Angry Birds merchandise. Since then, we have seen cakes, pizzas, lingerie (yep), movies, and even Angry Birds in real life.

Then came ZeptoLab and their famous blockbuster app, Cut the Rope.

Today, Halfbrick, makers of Fruit Ninja, an app that has since started a whole phenomenon of fruit slicing apps (that just sounds funny) are launching their debut into the plush toy market with two new toys.

There is the Sensei doll—>

And there is the watermelon toy—>

The Sensei goes for $15.99, while the watermelon will go for $14.99 when it’s available in a few weeks and you can stay updated on all the new Halfbrick toys over at the Fruit Ninja store, yes, there is a store.

If you have ever read my writing, you know what my conclusion is. Mobile is everywhere and it is changing everything, even the toy industry. Exciting times, what can I say?

I completely agree with what you say about mobile changing everything. I guess as the world ages, more and more links will be made with the world of technology. Fruit ninja is such a big game now especially with all the new versions like puss in boots etc, they have to expand somehow and I guess the toy industry is the next step :P
