iPhone 4 VS iPhone 4S Speed Test (VIDEO): Worth the Upgrade?

If you like to hang out in the tech space and specifically the mobile industry, you have to laugh at just how much coverage Apple is getting. I mean first there were the iPhone 5 rumors, which we know now, were almost all 100% false (at least for now). Then there was Jobs, who objectively speaking, was a great enough man to deserve the entire internet’s undivided attention for a week or two. He even deserved musical tributes!

Now, we have the iPhone 4S, which despite its lack of redesign, is breaking all possible records. The preorders sold out, then the operators had their best ever sales day when it finally launched. Of course, the result is Apple’s stock closing as high as ever.

Now, with millions of new 4S users out there, all anyone can talk about is the new iPhone, and specifically Siri. Choose pretty much any tech publication online and count how many of the last ten posts are somehow related to Apple, I am seeing well over 80%. That is insane.

But is it? The real question is, is the iPhone 4S such a superior device compared to let’s say, its predecessor the iPhone 4, that such hype is warranted? Well, Siri is admittedly cool and futuristic, and what makes it different is that it just works. Having said that, it is a phone after all, so how does it perform? How does it respond? How long does it take to load apps? These are some of the important questions that need to be asked and among all the buzz, not many are asking them.

In the video below, you can see the two iPhones, the 4 and the 4S side by side in a speed test. To me, it looks like the 4S is faster but not “Throw out my iPhone 4 to upgrade” faster. But that might just be me. What do you think?
