Jerry Seinfeld is Spot on about Consumer Behavior in the Mobile Era
By: Hillel Fuld
By now, it is clear to all that mobile advertising is following in the steps of Web advertising, from which Google makes 97% of its anual profits. We already discussed the mobile advertising revolution here. In addition, we know that the iPhone is changing the world in ways we never thought possible, and this new gadget is a perfect example.
But what about our behavior? How is mobile technology changing our social interactions? Interestingly enough, Jerry Seinfeld absolutely nails it in the video below, which was taken back in 2009. Now, once you watch the video, you will understand that the behavior he describes have only gotten worse since then. In fact, I almost had my iPhone thrown out the window for checking it during a dinner with friends. No, I am not kidding or even slightly exaggerating.
Enjoy the video!

He is right. It drives me crazy.
So true it is that courtesy and accountability have been eroded by attention to our mobile/online lives. My great hope for intermittent "glance and go" behavior can't be proven fast enough. Give it time…we will ditch our desktop pasts for real offline experiences soon, and we will invest more attention face-to-face.
Haha, oh my goodness I love his magical swipe at the end! What a guy, I freakin' love Jerry Seinfeld!
