IMA’s AppsMania Event, Sponsored by inneractive, Was a Huge Success for All

Yesterday. inneractive sponsored the IMA’s AppsMania event in Tel Aviv, along with our friends over at Qualcomm, Nokia, Google, BlueVia, and others. We were proud to be on such a list of industry leaders.

The venue itself (exodia in Tel Aviv) was nice, possibly slightly too crowded for the large crowd that showed up, but was set up nicely for the event. The final number of attendants was not publicized anywhere, but there were well over 400 people there, most of whom were mobile developers.

The hall itself was huge and set up with round tables and beverages for everyone to drink during the sessions. There were many important and informative presentations throughout the day and we, along with many developers we spoke to, came away with many lessons from the various sessions.

Some of the highlights of the day include:

  • Nokia’s representative, Srikanth Raju who spoke about developing relevant local apps for billions of consumers. Our very own Itay Gadot was on stage talking about inneractive’s long lasting relationship with Nokia as well.
  • Logia Group’s Chief Content Officer, Sigal Bareket presented Appsnips and how their in-app purchasing technology is another solid alternative to the pay per download model.
  • Motorola’s Director of International Market Development, Scott Lyons gave a super interesting presentation about Motorola’s strategy for the mobile eco system. He also spoke about the Motorola Atrix docking system and how this is a future trend we will see more of.
  • inneractive’s Itay Gadot spoke about how mobile apps are the only product that generate more money when they are given away for free than when they are sold for money. inneractive also gave away a $1,000 app discovery package to the many developers that signed up for integration of our SDK.
  • Qualcomm’s Director of Engineering, Eitan Pilipski gave a breath-taking session on the company’s new Augmented Reality SDK and literally created a new augmented reality Android app in front of our eyes. In ten minutes. Amazing.
  • Google’s Android developer advocate, Tim Bray spoke via live video about the current issues with the Android platform… Very enlightening.
  • Yosi Taguri, a local star in the developer world, spoke about his new voice controlled iOS game, Pah! and he captured the crowd with his humor, stats, and videos in a way only Yosi Taguri can. Highly entertaining.
  • The booths outside the hall were also exciting and included new and upcoming developers for apps such as DapsEm, WaveLauncher, Contapps, Mooniz, and others.
  • Motorola had a booth, which had some of the company’s newest technologies on display, such as the Motorola Atrix.
  • Qualcomm’s booth had the company’s new development super phone on display and the representatives were explaining what we can expect to see on mobile phones in the coming years.
  • The day came to an end with an interesting panel on app monetization covering all the options including in app advertising, in app purchases, and pay per download. Full of useful and practical information for all developers. Members of the panel include Ronen Soffer of Telmap (was also MC of the event, and quite a good one), James Parton of Telefonica, Amir Kirshenboim or Worldmate, Itay Gadot from inneractive, and Yosi Taguri.
